Payment: ( How to Buy on this Site? ) 

We have an offline payment mechanism. We do not accept Credit Cards. This ensures online security and helps us keep prices competitive. Every user who has registered with us has a Cash Basket created under his login.

To make a purchase online, four simple steps are  needed :

Put money into your ' Cash Basket' under your unique login I.D.

Send us an email with payment details .We will then activate your Cash Basket.

Login and select book of interest . Click on the Book . Use Pop up window to  add book to  Shopping Cart ( which is now active after a positive Cash Basket is created).

Select 'Area of Delivery ' and 'Confirm' Order . 

Please note that book selection can be modified in shopping Cart using DEL button. You may please wait for the Order Number to be generated after you confirm the order before you close the Shopping Cart Window. This may take up to a minute as the system validates your purchase , so please have patience. Once Order Number is generated, Order Confirmation email is sent to your registered email I.D.  

In order to Create a balance in the Cash Basket, Please drop in a (local, any bank) Cheque in any of the following nearest bank / ATM in your City OR you may transfer the amount online through Internet Banking.

After you have deposited the cheque or transferred funds online or sent a courier ( with a cheque/DD )  please send an email  ( using  your  email I.D. registered with us ) with following details  to contact@secondhandbooksindia.com    

We will then credit your 'Cash Basket ' and activate your a/c.

Please do not put in Cash directly into our a/c. We accept only Cheque or Bankers' Cheque.  Cash Transactions will incur extra banking charges which will be debited to the customer a/c. 

We cannot credit your Cash Basket without the above mentioned information, So please ensure you send us an email after making a payment .

Your Cash Basket  will be credited immediately on realization of payment (in case of  cheque payments). Instant credit is given for online transfers in our favour. 

Your Cash Basket has no time limit! There is no expiry! You may use it whenever you like.

Refund Policy:( Can I get a refund ?)

Full refund will be given on request. However any bonus paid already, bank charges , processing charges and courier charges as applicable will be debited from your Cash Basket.

Cancellation:( Can I Cancel an Order?)

Cancellation of order is not permissible . Once confirmed , the order is processed almost immediately and books are  sent for dispatch.

Condition of Books:( What is the condition of the Book?)

Each Book has a 'Star' assigned to it, which is indicative of the physical condition of the used book. Please click on the book to find this information in a pop up page.

* * *      Good -  Old but well-maintained.
* *         Fair - Pretty old and frequently used. Still  readable and useful.
*           Poor - Readable and useful, but poorly maintained.

Delivery: (When will I receive the Book and what are the Delivery Charges?)

We deliver only within India. 

Books dispatched through Courier. Books dispatched normally within 3 working days of order confirmation. Please do select Area of Delivery in Shopping Cart before confirming Order. The Delivery Charges are given for each Individual book. Just Click on the book of your interest and find the information .

There are two delivery options to choose from. These options will be visible in the Shopping Cart . They are as follows: 

Option 1

Free Local delivery. Delivery charges are zero for this option.  Please check if your City is categorized  under local delivery.

The Areas for Free Delivery are :

Delhi / Faridabad / Gurgaon / NOIDA /U.P. / Rajasthan / Haryana / Punjab

Option 2

Rest of India: Delivery charges are payable as applicable, for different books.

All other Cities and States which are not covered under Free Local delivery are under this option.

NORTH EAST INDIA RESIDENTS :  Kindly note we need a minimum order of three books to make a valid order. In case you are not sure about your delivery area , please write to us for a clarification.
